Thomas J. Mastin, Captain, 23 (severely wounded in the arm - main artery damaged - by apaches at Pinos Altos September 27; died from wound October 7, 1861)
John W. "Jack" Swilling, First Lieutenant, 31 (in Dona Ana Hospital with febris intermittens conval., October 20-23; indicted for murder             December, 1861,but apparently charge was dropped; deserted from Fort Fillmore July 6, 1862)
Thomas Jefferson "Tom" Helm, Second Lieutenant, 37 (in Fort Fillmore Hospital with billious fever August 9-31; elected captain October 31 1861; reelected captain July 1, 1862)
Joseph A. Ring, Brevet Second Lieutenant, 25
G. W. Linn, First Sergeant, 33 (treated at Dona Ana Hospital for hemorrhoids October 20-22, 1861) (no name on muster roll; Linn's name and rank were secured from The Mesilla Times, August 17, 1861)
G. S. Carter, Second Sergeant, 40
John M. smith, Third sergeant, 23 (elected first Lieutenant July 1, 1862)
Henry Clay "Hank" Smith, Fourth Sergeant, 27 (deserted with one Minie musket from Mesilla July 4, 1862)

J. J. Jackson, Third Corporal, 30 (elected seconds lieutenant October 31, 1861; died at Mesilla June 8, 1862.)
Thomas Buchanan, Fourth Corporal, 27 or 21 (elected first corporal prior to December 31, 1861; deserted from Mesilla July 6, 1862 with one Minie musket; killed by Indians at Apache Pass)
