Saufley’s Scouting Battalion, Major’s Texas Cavalry Brigade, was a temporary field organization formed about February 1864, of men detailed from Baylor’s, Chisolm’s, Crump’s, and Madison’s Regiments Texas Cavalry. [ed. Co. E was organized of the Arizona Scouts.]
Organized the month of February 1864 with 6 companies A-F
A = Co. F, Madison’s Regt. B = Co. K, Crumps Regt. C = Mixed Co. H & Co. F Crump’s Regt. D = (See Co F, 2nd Texas Partisan Ranger E = (Listed as unidentified but I know this to be the Arizona Scouts) F = Co. F, Baylor’s Regt.
